3 Days Ngorongoro Highlands Trekking
This 3-days is the beautiful safari to the Ngorongoro highlands with its dramatic range of volcanic mountains which straddle the Rift valley escarpments. Enjoy exploring the wildlife rich crater, crossing these huge landscapes on foot is a real experience as you hike around Empakai crater in the company of a Masai guide.
Hiking through Ngorongoro conservation area (Empakai crater flow), Maasai cultural Boma visit, Ngorongoro tour game viewing and east Africa Rift Valley viewpoint.
Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
Pick up from Arusha in the morning and drive to Ngorongoro Crater conservation Area. You will spend all day within the Ngorongoro Crater floor for game viewing. Ngorongoro is that the largest intact caldera, a cooking pot shaped collapsed volcan. Evening ascends and drive to Simba campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 2:
Nainokanoka – Olmoti Crater
After breakfast your driver guide will drive you to Nainokanoka Maasai village and meet your Maasai guide on the slopes of Olmoti Crater. The hike proceeds to Empakaii Crater (4-6 hrs). At Empakai, you’ll have time to explore the rim of the Crater. Your camping is going to be on the crater rim to attenuate the environmental impacts on the crater floor ecosystem.

Day 3:
Empakai to Arusha
The morning is spent exploring the Empakaii Crater floor with a picnic lunch. The lake is a primary breeding ground for flamingos, the forest is full of birds while buffalo and hyena inhabit the plains. There is a good chance of spotting leopard in the early morning. In the afternoon you will drive back to Arusha or Moshi town for dinner and overnight.
